Earthquakes & Dramatics

An interesting start to the day. The earth quaked in the Middlands and so decended the cable news teams. Breaking news alert: chimney falls over in Nottingham. Man and woman woke up in bed....terified! Who's to blame? Is there going to be an enquiry? Time for some tough talking news readers to lay into somebody, anybody....anybody listening?

I did see two headlines that made me smile when read together about "protesters scaling parliament" and "Gordon Brown in hostage negotiations." Now, as one combined headline that would make for something actually quite interesting. I'm not sure that poor old Gordon would be able to secure his own release, he's already got trouble with his terror lawsthis week. Lets hope he fares better for Peter Moore in Iraq.

Looks like the poor luvvies over in the US will be able to go back to work soon with the writers backing a new deal. Having seen the California adverts on TV recently, if I was an American actor, I would also be relishing the idea of a prompt and timely return to the toils and sufferings of work.

On a serious note, the story emerging from Jersey is heartbreaking and what makes it even worse is that peoppe all over the UK seem to be emerging with similar stories at similar institutions. Srories of abuse, rape and torture. It still goes on today and nobody in power seems to give a hoot until dead bodies are discovered. Even then incedents seem to be treated as isolated unless as was the case with Shipman, the media and public go berserk.

Finally, drug giants are being warned to tell the truth about medicines......Okey dokey! If they do, or the government can force them to do so then I will erect stocks in Parliament Square, lock myself in them and allow passers by to hurl fruit and abuse at me
