(Met Office) Late Spring Bank Holiday Weather

Prospects for the Late Spring Bank Holiday weekend weather look promising, with the chance that some places may record their highest temperatures of the year so far.

Met Office forecasters are predicting that the best of the weekend weather will be over parts of England and Wales, although Northern Ireland and Scotland will also see some bright and sunny conditions at times.

The best days of the long weekend are expected to be Saturday and Sunday, when maximum temperatures in the south could reach a warm 24 degrees C.

Frank Saunders, Chief Forecaster, said "Although there will be plenty of fine weather to enjoy this weekend, Bank Holiday Monday looks rather more uncertain, with the chance of showers."

For those on holiday through the half-term week, more dry and bright weather is expected, especially in southern regions where temperatures are likely to remain on the warm side.
