Marta hits out at MPs' expenses insult

The publication of MPs' expenses with key information blacked out has been blasted by UKIP's Marta Andreasen.

The former chief accountant-turned-whistleblower, now a UKIP MEP, said the release of the documents with the details obscured was a body-blow to freedom of information.

"This is not transparent accountability of MPs' expenses and it is not what anyone would call freedom of information," Ms Andreasen said.

"Everyone was expecting a full and clear publication of how MPs have been spending taxpayers' money and to be given the documents in this way is an insult to us all."
