Hell hath no fury like a bitter nobody

Caroline Flint quit the government yesterday like a Disney villain claiming that Gordon Brown was using her purely as "window dressing".

This made me laugh on so many levels.

Firstly she is a politician and granted as politicians go, she is reasonably presentable, however by definition she will be a selfish, self interested megalomaniac with a warped sense of reality and an over inflated ego....and these are just the job specific generic qualities. If Gordon Brown however was looking to adorn his cabinet with beautiful women to "window dress" his cabinet, there is surely a much more talented pool of candidates outside the world of politics including the limited talents of Caroline Flint. At one point I suspected that the PM was worried about Susan Boyle's mental state because he was actually thinking about drafting her in to help save his bacon. If she is nuts and he were to draft her in, she might be in good company with Ms Flint who like the Caffreys....

Secondly, I am more persuaded that it is Ms Flint who has tarred herself with the "incompetent brush" after it came to light that she hadn't even read the EU treaty despite the fact that she was the minister for Europe. If a person doesn't do their job properly, or even in this case somehow manages to not do it at all, then what exactly is that person if they are not "window dressing".

Finally, I thought that maybe I could've got it all wrong about this super confident woman of power because it could be suggested that she actually has a very low self image of herself after all. She seems to think that people only see her as a headless plastic dummy. Well, if the shoe fits...

Anyway, we can only hope, having seen and explored her true face now that Ms Flint manages to find the obscurity that we all deserve.
