Cameron renews call for a General Election

David Cameron this morning renewed his call for a General Election, stressing the public must be allowed to “pass judgement” on MPs.

In an interview on GMTV, he said that politics must be rebuilt “brick by brick” following the expenses scandal.

"People feel all politicians are implicated in this. They're very angry, they want to express that anger and we have to do everything we can to rebuild that trust."

David stressed that while the British public want to see MPs disciplined over the abuse of expenses, they also want an election so they can have their say:

“They want to be able to pass judgement on all Members of Parliament. They want to be involved and they only way to do that is a General Election.”
