Wildcat strikes again over British jobs.

Once again wildcat strikes have broken out in parts of the country over the British jobs for British workers issue. This boast by Prime Minister Gordon Brown is once again being shown to be inane.

Figures from the Financial Times show that:

"....the number of British-born workers in employment fell by 451,000, or 1.8%, in the first quarter of this year compared with a year ago. Over the same period, the number of foreign-born workers with jobs rose by 129,000 or 3.5%. In the first quarter of this year, British-born workers left employment at roughly four times the rate of foreign-born workers."

Nigel Farage, UKIP leader, said "Once again we're seeing the vacuity of Gordon Brown's promise of "British jobs for British workers". He doesn't have the power to ensure anything like this.

"In fact, given that we've handed all of our power to the European Union, simply sent our ability to make changes to Brussels, it is illegal for us to even try and do anything at all to ensure that our own British workers get first bite of the apple.

"This is what Brown, Cameron and Clegg simply don't want to talk about: that we and they have no power to do anything about this. We can only do something if we take back the powers from Brussels by leaving the European Union. We can only have British jobs for British workers when we've got British laws for British people."
