A General Election would bring change not chaos

David Cameron urged Gordon Brown to call a General Election at Prime Minister’s Questions.

He stressed that an election was the only way to give “the public a voice” and “the country a fresh start”.

And he rubbished Gordon Brown’s comment that holding a ballot now, in the middle of the recession, would cause “chaos”, pointing out that the US had held an election during the banking crisis.

He asked Gordon Brown whether he felt President Obama was “an agent of chaos” – and stressed:

“The Prime Minister says he wants to talk about the issues. How better to address the issues than with a General Election?”

David attacked Mr. Brown for promising to renew trust, practise prudence and create economic stability – but failing to deliver on any of these.

And he stressed, “The Prime Minister calls elections ‘chaos’. I call them ‘change’. Why can’t we have one?”
