God rest Sanam Navsarka, who was murdered at the age of 2 by her mother and her mother's lover.Kirklees Council said a serious case review had been ordered into the case but stressed Sanam had not been on the child protection register so they must have been wiping the sweat from their brow as they said it. Presumably that means no media style witch-hunt resignations and sackings here to interfere with the pensions and £100k salaries of those in charge.
In a statement, the council said: "Sanam had never been on the child protection register, nor had her mother been the subject of any child protection or care support in her earlier years. So quick to pass the buck and that's what makes me mad. Instead of reiterating the fact that they are not in any way culpable, just in case they get anywhere the same kind of heat as Harringay did for the Baby P scandal, these people should be calling for the government to investigate and deal with the social reasons why vulnerable children in our society today are being murdered by those who are supposed to care and protect them at such alarming regularity. The solution is simple... stop incentivising lower class women from impoverished backgrounds with limited intelligence and no job or desire to get one by giving them money and property paid by the state and taxpayers for having kids. As long as we encourage this culture, children will continue to die in the most appalling conditions.
It is about time that Ed Balls stopped sitting around scratching his and did some work!
